The Painting School of Montmiral offers individually tailored drawing and painting workshops / courses to students of all levels and ages. This web site contains information and photographs about all aspects of what has been called "the Montmiral experience" (course director, course structure, studio facilities, accommodation, meals, setting). Also to be found are press and student comments, occasional articles, photos of student work and a booking form with dates and prices.

THE SETTING The ancient streets and buildings of a hilltop bastide dating from the 13th century, and surrounding countryside of rare variety and beauty. The school studios survey extensive views from their perch on the ramparts.	THE HISTORY How events in Castelnau de Montmiral reflect some of the the grand currents of French history from the 13th to 17th century. Crusade against Cathars, reliquary cross of Counts of Armanac, 17th century face lift, etc.
THE TEACHING A program director with exceptional qualifications offers unique knowledge and a great deal of individual attention. Specialities: colour, space, light, feel-system drawing (encouraging both accuracy and expression) and creativity.	PRACTICAL ARRANGEMENTS Studio facilities and equipment and what materials you need to bring with you, comfortable accommodation in "Gîtes de France", evening meals in a local restaurant, local amenities, etc..
STUDENT COMMENTS Extracts from letters of appreciation (with photos), arranged so as to make it easy to find the views of students of different levels of attainment (beginner to professional). Special sections for French and young students.
